Maximilian Huber will become the new head chef at Restaurant Lucide at KKL Luzern

The KKL Luzern is delighted that Maximilian Huber will take over from Michèle Meier as head chef at the Lucide Restaruant, which has been awarded one MICHELIN star and 16 GaultMillau points, from 1 May 2025. A joint one-month-transition phase will ensure a smooth handover and continue to offer guests culinary highlights at the highest level.

Maximilian Huber brings valuable experience from renowned positions in Switzerland, Denmark and Germany and has developed his skills under top chefs such as Stefan Heilemann and Timo Fritsche. He has already defended a MICHELIN star and a green MICHELIN star in the Fine Dining category and came second in the 2023 “marmite youngster” competition.

His kitchen philosophy combines a deep appreciation for regional products with innovative craftsmanship and a creative, cosmopolitan approach. He combines the precision of French cuisine with new methods such as fermentation and a sustainable product ethic to create dishes with a clear signature and distinctive character. Maximilian is particularly fascinated by the role of the KKL Luzern as a place where architecture, culture, congresses and culinary merge.

To kick off the new era at Restaurant Lucide, there will be an exclusive four-hands dinner by Michèle Meier and Maximilian Huber on 21 May 2025. Until the end of May, guests can once again experience Michèle Meier’s popular signature dishes, which impressively reflect her unique style and the success of Restaurant Lucide to date.

The Restaurant Lucide and the KKL Luzern warmly welcome Maximilian Huber. “With his clear vision and distinctive kitchen philosophy, Maximilian Huber will continue to develop the culinary profile of Restaurant Lucide and the KKL Luzern in an authentic and forward-looking way”, says Lukas Zehnder, Chief Culinary Officer at the KKL Luzern.
